「Twins in convolution」 helical shapes
The parallelogram has two diagonals. ["It's trivial !", so somebody speaks somewhere, but ] That produces 'twin' helical folding patterns at the same time.
In each diagram of a single layer, segments in blue are valley-creases and those in black are mountain- creases; each parallelogram that consist of a pair of two congruent triangles are colored in gray, for the sake of comparison.
Tracing papers in the same dimensions are used to fold these twins. Larger one, nearly a regular triacontakaihenagon (31-gon) as its circumscribing shape, that has the same structure of his work appeared at the beginning of the article "Beauty of Convolution" Azuma Hideaki's spirals on the quarterly magazine ORU #6 (1994 Autumn). Smaller one is a piled up structure over an almost regular icosikaiheptagon (27-gon). An enlargement picture of the two objects is here.
Some result of calculation is applied to compose these so that these can coil around each other like this.
Material: a [long enough] sheet of tracing paper for each,
________without using adhesives.
