Tiling patterns, which have been used as the background image of this site since the beginning of this October, consist of 2 by 2 units:
The diagram of the above module is to be drawn as follows:

The above diagrams [tiled over the whole plane] may not be foldable in a practical manner.
(It will be 'foldable' in mathematics: by considering a basic diagram as a fundamental region of the quotient space that is concerned with [homogeneous] tiling of the diagrams over a Euclidean plane.)
Several patterns/diagrams on cruciform shapes (more than 10 articles now [October 29, 2005 (JST)]) have been uploaded to the companion site: ManyFolds in another Variety .
